D.A. Davidson & Co. announced today the continued expansion of its capital markets platform with the hire of John Baumgartner as Vice Chairman and Co-Head of Equity Capital Markets. Baumgartner will co-lead the group alongside Josh Nolan, focusing on the origination, marketing, pricing, and distribution of the firm's equity capital raising transactions. He will be based in the Greater Dallas area, further expanding D.A. Davidson's presence in the Texas market.
Baumgartner brings more than 25 years of equity capital markets experience across D.A. Davidson's four core industry verticals: consumer, diversified industrials, financial institutions, and technology. Over the course of his career, he has led the successful completion of more than 300 IPOs, follow-on offerings, at-the-market programs, block trades, and private placements for middle-market growth companies, cultivating deep relationships across private equity firms, corporate clients, and capital markets intermediaries nationally.

Baumgartner joins D.A. Davidson from Lake Street Capital Markets, where he served as Head of Equity Capital Markets and Financial Sponsors.
Previously, Baumgartner served as Managing Director and Co-Head of Equity Capital Markets and Equity Origination at Stephens. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets at Robert W. Baird and held several roles of increasing responsibility at Piper Jaffray, where he began his career in equity capital markets.
Baumgartner's arrival reflects D.A. Davidson's continued investment in expanding its senior talent base and geographic footprint. His hire builds on recent senior additions in the Greater Dallas area as the firm deepens its Southwest presence and broader middle-market advisory capabilities.
