John Backus is a Managing Director and sales trader who joined D.A. Davidson in August 2022, bringing 30 years of institutional equity sales trading experience. Prior to joining D.A. Davidson, he worked at firms that included Citigroup, Bank of America and Susquehanna, and served as Senior Managing Director and Head of Sales Trading at Friedman Billings Ramsey. John holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut.
