Derek Heinonen is a Vice President in the Technology Investment Banking Group. He has over four years of experience advising on transactions for middle-market technology companies across software, communications technology, and tech-enabled services.
Prior to investment banking, Derek spent four years as a military special operations team leader within the Army’s Second Ranger Battalion, with over 200 missions across four deployments. He also spent five years as a telecommunications operator, designing macro-cell and small-cell networks for Verizon Wireless in Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington as a radio-frequency engineer and system performance engineer.
Derek graduated summa cum laude from the University of Portland and completed his Master of Business Administration at University of Washington Foster School of Business.
