John Baumgartner is Vice Chairman and Co-Head of Equity Capital Markets at D.A. Davidson, where he helps oversee the origination, marketing, pricing, and distribution of the firm's equity capital raising transactions.
Based in the Greater Dallas area, John brings more than 25 years of equity capital markets experience and has led the successful completion of more than 300 initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, at-the-market programs, block trades, and private placements. He has worked with middle-market companies across a variety of industries and sectors and has developed extensive relationships throughout the private equity and capital markets communities.
Prior to joining D.A. Davidson, John served as Head of Equity Capital Markets and Financial Sponsors at Lake Street Capital Markets. Previously, he held senior equity capital markets leadership positions at Stephens and Robert W. Baird and began his career at Piper Jaffray in 1999.
John graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and received his MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
