Rob has been in the securities industry since his career began in 2005. After finishing law school, he focused his practice on corporate and securities work, primarily at leading law firm Bass, Berry & Sims, where he represented public and private banks, broker-dealers and various fund managers. He counseled his clients on the issuance of public and private equity and debt securities, as well as mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. In 2010 Rob left his law practice to work as in-house counsel for a small, regional fixed income broker-dealer. From there, Rob realized his skill set was best suited for institutional fixed income sales.
Since 2011 (initially at Vining Sparks, prior to joining D.A. Davidson), Rob’s goal has been to become almost like an employee of his clients, which include depositories, investment advisors, mutual funds, hedge funds, insurance and trust companies. He enjoys (when invited) being a part of his clients’ board meetings, asset/liability committee meetings, and preparing balance sheet and investment strategy on a quarterly, monthly, weekly or even daily basis. He seeks to understand client needs first, then develop and execute strategy. His strong finance and regulatory knowledge, coupled with his willingness to take the time to educate his clients on the capital markets, enable Rob to deliver a superior level of service.
Rob holds a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee, and a juris doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Memphis School of Law.
