Secure Document Upload Terms of Use
D.A. Davidson & Co. ("D.A. Davidson") provides Secure Document Upload, a service that enables each person who elects to use it (“you”) to conveniently submit documents to D.A. Davidson through this website, which is hosted by a third-party provider.
By using Secure Document Upload, you agree to the following terms, which may be updated from time to time:
- Consent to Use Secure Document Upload. By using Secure Document Upload, you consent to upload documents for review and download by D.A. Davidson. You understand that documents uploaded may be accessible to any D.A. Davidson employee and your use of Secure Document Upload is voluntary and not required for your engagement with D.A. Davidson.
Secure Document Upload is intended solely for the submission of documents to D.A. Davidson. Any other use, including the activities described under "Improper Use" below, is unauthorized and may result in revocation of your access.
- Use of Secure Document Upload. You are responsible for the documents you choose to upload through Secure Document Upload. Documents submitted will be retained by D.A. Davidson in accordance with financial industry record-retention requirements. After submission, the documents will not be available for your retrieval through Secure Document Upload, therefore you should not rely on it for document storage.
The file size of uploaded documents cannot exceed 20 MB. File types typically permitted through Secure Document Upload include, but are not limited to .pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, .csv, .ppt, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .gif and .txt. File types that are not permitted include, but are not limited to, scripts, databases, executable and audio files.
You will need certain hardware and software and may incur costs in connection with using Secure Document Upload. For example, you will need access to a computer with internet, a web browser and email software. Such hardware, software and any other costs shall be your sole responsibility. D.A. Davidson is not responsible for providing hardware, software, or for reimbursing you for any costs incurred for using Secure Document Upload.
- Improper Use. You understand and acknowledge that Secure Document Upload cannot be used to ensure that any time-sensitive communications are addressed in a timely manner. If you upload time-sensitive information, you should notify your financial professional or D.A. Davidson contact directly by phone. Secure Document Upload should not be used for urgent communications. D.A. Davidson and its employees do not accept orders to buy or sell securities via Secure Document Upload. Although you may discuss taxes, accounting and estate planning with your financial professional or D.A. Davidson contact, D.A. Davidson and its employees do not give tax, accounting or legal advice, and you must verify all information with your tax advisor, accountant and/or attorney.
- Electronic Security. You understand that, despite measures intended to help protect information transmitted through Secure Document Upload, electronic communications and internet transmissions involve inherent risks. You agree to access Secure Document Upload directly through the link provided by D.A. Davidson.
- Authority. By continuing to use Secure Document Upload, you also acknowledge that you have carefully read and agree to these Terms of Use.
